The City Boy Movement (CBM), Ekiti State, has intensified its engagement with young people through entertainment, entrepreneurship and other youth-focused initiatives, bringing together students and youths from diverse backgrounds at a lively Karaoke event in Ado-Ekiti.

The event provided participants an opportunity to socialise and connect, with a raffle draw adding excitement as winners went home with various household items and food supplies, including gas cookers, big fans, LED bulbs, torches, kettle, blender, sandwich maker, Noodles, spaghetti and Semolina.

Speaking at the event, the State Director of the Movement, Asiwaju Oluwafemi Kasali, reflected on his university days, saying his experience had given him a deeper understanding of the aspirations, challenges and social needs of young people.

Kasali disclosed that the CBM is planning a bigger Karaoke Night featuring some of the A-list musicians in Nigeria, describing the initiative as part of efforts to provide young people with platforms for interaction, talent discovery and quality entertainment.

He urged Ekiti youths to recognise their self-worth and remain conscious of the image they project wherever they find themselves.

“Our young people must understand their worth. Wherever you go, remember that you represent your family, your community and Ekiti State,” he said, urging them to channel their energy into education, entrepreneurship, creativity and other productive ventures.

The State Director said the Movement would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting youth participation, entrepreneurship, talent development and positive social engagement, stressing that young people remain critical stakeholders in the future of Ekiti.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the raffle prizes as a welcome gesture and commending the Movement for creating an atmosphere where young people could interact, relax and feel valued.

The CBM said it would sustain its youth-focused engagements while expanding opportunities for young people to participate in activities that promote entertainment, entrepreneurship, talent development and community engagement.
