The City Boy Movement in Ekiti State has begun a fresh mobilisation and restructuring of its grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election, warning that underperforming coordinators would no longer be tolerated within its ranks.
The State Director of the movement, Asiwaju Kasali Oluwafemi, issued the warning during a strategic meeting with Local Government Coordinators held shortly after the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
Kasali said the movement would henceforth adopt a stricter performance-based approach, stressing that all coordinators must immediately return to their various local government areas to intensify mobilisation efforts for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
“There is no room for complacency. Every structure must be active, visible and result-oriented. Those who cannot keep pace with the demands of the task ahead will not be part of the next phase,” he declared.
He directed coordinators to commence immediate restructuring of the movement’s grassroots network from the local government level down to polling units, giving them a one-month deadline to complete the exercise.
According to him, the movement is strengthening its operational base to ensure more effective coordination and wider reach across communities in preparation for future electoral engagements.
Kasali emphasized that only committed, disciplined and capable members would be retained in the restructured framework, adding that the movement would prioritise individuals with the capacity to drive effective grassroots mobilisation.
He also reiterated the need for continuous training and reorientation of members to enhance their efficiency in mobilisation and engagement at the polling unit level.
The State Director further approved the deployment structure of one unit coordinator and two canvassers per polling unit across the state, aimed at deepening grassroots penetration and consolidating support structures.
Kasali urged members of the movement to remain focused and dedicated to the re-election project of President Tinubu, expressing confidence that sustained mobilisation efforts would yield strong electoral outcomes in 2027.
He reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to expanding its grassroots network across Ekiti State in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
