    The City Boy Movement in Ekiti State has congratulated His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his well-deserved electoral victory, describing the outcome as a strong affirmation of good governance, inclusive leadership, and the continued trust of the people in his administration.

    In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Director of Media and Communications of the Movement, Alofe Ayodele Moses, the group noted that the Governor’s re-election reflects the overwhelming confidence of Ekiti people in his leadership style, which is anchored on inclusivity, peace, and people-focused development.

    The Movement commended Governor Oyebanji for his inclusive governance approach, noting that it significantly contributed to a peaceful, seamless, and credible electoral process across the state. According to the statement, the Governor’s ability to carry all stakeholders along helped to deepen unity and reduce political tension during the election period.

    “This victory is a clear testimony to the Governor’s performance in office and his commitment to the welfare of all Ekiti people. It is a mandate freely given in recognition of his dedication to progress, stability, and inclusive development,” the statement read.

    The City Boy Movement also congratulated the people of Ekiti State for renewing the Governor’s mandate, describing their decision as a bold endorsement of continuity, good governance, and sustained development across the state.

    It further assured that the partnership between the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government and Ekiti State will continue to be strengthened in order to deliver more developmental projects, expand opportunities for citizens, and deepen socio-economic growth in line with the broader national development agenda.

    The statement also lauded Governor Oyebanji for his statesmanlike gesture in extending hands of fellowship to candidates of other political parties following the conclusion of the election, describing it as a demonstration of maturity, leadership, and commitment to unity.

    “His Excellency’s resolve to reach out to other contestants reflects a leader who places the interest of the state above political differences. It is a rare quality that continues to distinguish his leadership,” the Movement added.

    The City Boy Movement reaffirmed its unwavering support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration and pledged continued collaboration toward consolidating democratic gains and advancing development in Ekiti State.

    he Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, on Monday received State Directors of the City Boy Movement (CBM) from the South-West Region in his office in Abuja, in a meeting that underscored the growing importance of youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation in national development and governance awareness. The delegation was led by the Oyo State Director of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Lamiju Alao-Akala, who presented the objectives, activities, and expanding reach of the movement across the region and beyond. The CBM Directors in the delegation included Hon. Lamiju Alao-Akala (Oyo), Moyo Ogunlewe (Lagos), Kasali Oluwafemi (Ekiti) and Kayode Sowade (Osun).

    The City Boy Movement is a youth-driven sociopolitical mobilisation platform established to promote civic participation, policy awareness, and support for progressive governance initiatives, particularly those associated with the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Since its emergence, the CBM has grown into a structured network of young professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and community organisers committed to engaging Nigerian youths at the grassroots level through advocacy, public enlightenment campaigns, community outreach, and digital engagement. Its activities include town-hall interactions, policy sensitisation programmes, volunteerism, and youth empowerment initiatives aimed at strengthening democratic participation and national cohesion.

    Yesterday, the Ekiti State Director of the City Boy Movement held a strategic meeting with the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, CON, to deliberate on strengthening grassroots mobilization, enhancing youth engagement, and aligning with ongoing development initiatives across the state.

    Discussions focused on broadening the footprint of the City Boy Movement in Ekiti, reinforcing community-based structures, and advancing initiatives that foster inclusive growth and active political participation among young people.

    The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, was also present during the visit, further underscoring the strong sense of collaboration and unity within the state’s leadership.

    Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has charged members of the City Boys Movement to intensify grassroots mobilisation across wards and polling units in the state for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    Governor Oyebanji, who gave the charged on Tuesday at his Ikogosi Ekiti country home when he received the State executives of the Movement, led by the Ekiti State Director, Mr Oluwafemi Kasali, charged the group to take the campaign to the people at the unit level, stressing that elections are won through strategic engagement at the grassroots.

    Governor Oyebanji who hailed the vision of the Movement, said direct interaction with the people remains the most effective means of consolidating support.

    While emphasizing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would record a landslide victory in Ekiti in the January 2027 elections, Governor Oyebanji said it is his desire and that of the APC leadership in the state to ensure the State records an unprecedented huge number of votes for the President, in appreciation of his sundry support for Ekiti State.

    The Governor tasked the leadership of CBM to ensure that their members are visible an active in their respective wards and polling units, engaging residents and showcasing the achievements of the President.

    While commending the Movement for its dedication, structure and grassroots presence in the state, the Governor assured them that his government would stand solidly by the movement, provide necessary encouragement and support to ensure its success as well as he realization of its goals.
